May of 2021 was an exciting month for us. Our workshop completed numerous modifications — one of which was for a storage unit, in order for our customer to house their equipment.
We were very happy to see the final product fulfilling our customer’s needs!
Modified shipping container self storage unit
A customer came to us with a common problem we see today. More and more people have started working from home or spending more time indoors due to the COVID19 Pandemic and various lockdowns/restrictions.
As people build home offices, this has increased the need for storage as garages are quickly filling up with various odds and ends.
Our customer had seen other people making use of shipping containers and had been considering the purchase of one. They were interested in modifying one so that it could be used as a shipping container storage unit.
Our customer selected a 20 ft General Purpose A-Grade shipping container in great condition as the perfect solution to their storage problem. Our team freshly painted the container exterior blue, as per to our customer’s wishes.
But, we didn’t stop there. We then started fitting out the interior of the shipping container with accessories to help our customer make the most of the space. We installed 5.4m of 3-tier 600mm deep 1200kg rated adjustable shelving – a personal organisers’ dream!
After popping in a whirlybird and vents package, we managed to create a lot of airflow. Finally, the customer requested a custom fabricated lockable cage suspended from the roof with bi-fold doors. And, of course, our team delivered to specs and on time!
Our team enjoyed the challenge of working on this project and we can’t wait to see the shipping container be put to use!
