Storage Options: General storage shipping containers
General storage containers are one of the most popular options for storage when using shipping containers. These containers come in a wide range of colours, sizes and grades. You can choose to purchase a new or used container, pick a grade form economy, repaired or fully refurbished and choose a size to suit what you are storing or transporting. Sizes for these steel containers include 10 foot, 20 foot and 40 foot. 20 foot and 40 foot containers are also available as hi-cubes or as 2 pallet wide containers.
Refrigerated storage (Reefer) shipping containers
Also known as “Reefers”, refrigerated shipping containers are made with robust still frames like general storage containers, but also feature interior walls of stainless steel and aluminium and a layer of high efficiency insulating foam between the walls. Refrigeration machinery is built in the end wall of the container, operating anywhere between -25 degrees and +20 degrees with the option of non-operating reefers, acting as chillers. These containers are available in 20 foot and 40 foot sizes and are ideal storage solution for customers who wish to chill products such as food, drinks, flowers and more.
Special purpose storage shipping containers
For awkward or oversized loads (ever wanted to transport a giraffe for instance!), Gateway Container Sales & Hire can engineer special purpose containers. These are also ideal for solving a non-transport problem or as a starting point for further modification. We also offer containers with open tops with similar dimensions to normal containers but have a removable tarpaulin instead of a roof. Like refrigerated storage, these storage solutions are available in 20 foot and 40 foot sizes.
